Every year in September, the annual fiddle contest is held called, “Fiddlin’ Down the Tracks.”  This year it will be held September 19 – 21, 2008 at the West Park Activity Center.  This is a State sanctioned competition and the winners are eligible to compete at the National Old Time Fiddler’s Contest in Weiser, Idaho.   Winners also receive trophies, medallions and cash prizes as well.   There are many different types of contests, band scrambles and usually a dance one of the evenings as well as a Sunday Gospel Sing-a-long.   (For more information visit www.tehachapi.com/fiddlecontest.
