Our Cello Category

The Chinese are rapidly mastering the art of violin and cello making, and they have some of the best wood left in the world. However, their set-up skills and parts need improving.
As with all our cellos, we take the basic instrument and have our luthiers refit it with Larsen or other fine strings, a Wittner tailpiece and a better bridge. If necessary, we also plane the fingerboard, cut new pegs, adjust the soundpost and the endpin, and perform any other set-up work required. In other words, we save you a trip to your luthier and the bother of trial and error in string choices. When you receive your cello, it's ready to play. We love the way they look and sound when we're finished, and we think you will, too. You can find these same cellos at cheaper prices in "as is" condition, but by the time you visit your luthier and add good strings, you'll be in for sticker shock!
