The Grancino Early Music Series in Modern Edition provides performing editions of music from the Baroque and Classical eras. The publications are based closely on first editions or manuscript sources and aim to include complete collections whenever possible. All works in the Modern Edition are presented in both score and performing parts. Some of these publications are also available by in Facsimile Reproductions of the original sources.
Nona Pyron, the Director of Grancino and the Early Cello Series Editor, is one of the world's leading baroque cellists. She holds Masters and D.M.A. degrees in cello from the University of Southern California. Her research in Europe into the early history of the cello led to the discovery of a vast, unsuspected Baroque and Classical repertoire for cello and other instruments. These works now form the Grancino Collection. Nona Pyron has toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States performing these pieces. We are thrilled to be able to add the Grancino Collection to Fiddlers Crossing.
